Our Story
Zenful Flames Candle Company is a small, home-based business located in Baltimore County, MD, founded by Tyra Wilson in November 2021. What started as a personal journey to relieve stress in 2017 through candle-making transformed into a passion-driven business when the pandemic exacerbated Tyra's mental traumas. Diagnosed with P.T.S.D. and Anxiety in 2013, Tyra relied on live music, dancing, traveling, outdoor exercise, and aromatherapy, especially lighting candles, as her coping mechanisms.
However, as the pandemic deepened, Tyra found herself succumbing more to her mental traumas. Seeking healing and coping strategies, she turned to meditation, healthier eating habits, physical activity, and the enlightening properties of healing crystals. After years of research, fragrance and wax testing, and learning from countless YouTube "how to" videos, Tyra decided to embark on her entrepreneurial journey, sharing her healing path and methods of navigating the world.
At Zenful Flames Candle Company, we take pride in offering clean and fresh products that are safe to use anywhere. We have intentionally chosen wooden wicks for our candles due to their reputation for producing a cleaner burn compared to most other candles. With a wooden wick, you'll experience a natural crackling and smoldering ambiance, reminiscent of a cozy fireplace, while a cotton wick provides a brighter, more traditional flame. While wooden wicks require more maintenance and attention, the ambiance they create is truly worth it.
Every Zenful Flames candle is meticulously blended and hand-poured using a base of vegan-friendly Coconut-Apricot crème wax. When coloring is used, we rely on all-natural mica powder, ensuring that our candles are safe for everyone to enjoy. Whether you're battling mental health challenges and seek a spiritual and aromatic boost or simply need a scented pick-me-up to brighten your day, our diverse collection of candles caters to all your aromatherapy needs.
